Thank you to our Partners!

OLHSA Early Head Start and Head Start want to thank our partners
who assist us every year and help us to create a healthy and
fun learning environment for the children in our programs.

The Meemic Foundation

During the 2017-2018 school year, OLHSA was honored to be nominated and chosen by The Meemic Foundation for a volunteer project. Meemic volunteers spent a Saturday helping to beautify the outside and inside of OLHSA Head Start's Pontiac building. Outside, the volunteers helped add a privacy fence and planted butterfly, pizza, and flowers gardens in the Head Start playground and on campus. Inside the building, volunteers painted a mural on each of the three Head Start floors to make a more friendly school environment. Mural themes were under the sea, outer space, and forest.

The Meemic Foundation supports education excellence through funding programs and other partnership initiatives. We truly appreciate their help with beautifying our Head Start center for children and their families.

Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan

OLHSA is fortunate to have volunteers from Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan's Foster Grandparent Program spend time in our Head Start classrooms throughout the school year. Foster Grandparents spend time in the classrooms helping teachers with children while providing a nurturing environment to help the children learn and grow.

Foster Grandparent volunteers are mentors, tutors and role models serving in various community settings for youth with exceptional needs.
